    1) Scheduled Caste Purva Dasham Scholarship
    Under this scheme, scholarships are provided to students studying in classes 1 to 8 and ITI classes according to the following criteria:
    Eligibility for Scholarship
    • The student should be studying as an institutional student in a recognized school run in the state.
    • The student must have passed the class in the previous year.
    • The student should not be receiving any other type of scholarship.
    • There is a provision to provide scholarship to all students studying from class 1 to 8.
    • Students have to apply for scholarship in their own school.

    The rates of SC class 1 to 8 and ITI scholarship are as follows :-
    (Rates effective from the year 2005-06)
    Class 1 to 5 Rs.50/- per month
    Class 6 to 8 Rs. 80/- per month
    There is a provision for payment of scholarship by the concerned institution/school to the students through post office or bank accounts opened in their names.

    2) Scholarship for SC/ST students from class 9 to 10
    (From the year 2011-12, scholarship for class 9-10 is being run by the Central Government)

    Eligibility for Scholarship

    Maximum income limit of parent / guardian is Rs 2,50,000 per annum.

    Amount – Scholarship amount is Rs. 275 per month for a day scholar and Rs. 600 per month for a maximum period of 10 months. In addition, there is a provision to give ad-hoc grant of Rs. 750 per day to a day scholar and Rs. 1000 per year to a hosteler.

    Distribution Process: There is a provision for payment of scholarship to all eligible students through bank/post office accounts opened in their names.
    3) Scheduled Caste Post 10th Scholarship
    Under this scheme, scholarship is provided to students studying in post-matriculation classes as per the following criteria:
    Eligibility for scholarship
    • A resident student of Uttarakhand state should be studying as an institutional student in a recognized university/technical/medical/management institute and other professional courses operating in the state or outside the state.
    • The student must have passed the class in the previous year.
    • The student should not have done any professional course before the current course.
    • The student should not be receiving any other type of scholarship.
    • Scholarship will be admissible to those students whose parents/guardians have annual income up to Rs. 250000/- (Rs. two lakh fifty thousand).
    • Students have to apply for scholarship in their own institute.
    • The last date for applying for scholarship is 31st May (every year) and in case of new admission, it is 31st July. For courses where admission is after 30th September, application must be made within one month of admission.
    • Students studying outside the state will have to send their application along with the letter from the concerned institution to the District Social Welfare Officer of their district of residence by 30th November.
    • A committee is formed at every school level for granting scholarship. The Scholarship Sanction Committee approves scholarship to all eligible students and prepares the scholarship sanction list And there is a provision for making available the demand letter along with the details of non-refundable fees prescribed by the University/Government for the concerned course to the District Social Welfare Officer through the District Education Officer.
    • The last date for students studying in universities/institutions located outside the state to submit their scholarship application to their institutions is 30th November. According to the application form submitted by the student, if scholarship is admissible as per the prescribed standards, then the concerned institute will send the scholarship form at its own level to the District Social Welfare Officer of the district in which the student is a resident.

    In case of being eligible for scholarship, there is a provision for the concerned District Social Welfare Officer to transfer the amount of scholarship and fee to the CBS account of a nationalized bank operated in the name of the concerned student.
    • This scholarship is provided under the rules laid down by the Government of India.
    • Scholarship will be applicable only from the date of admission till the month of examination of the final year of the course (if admission in the first year of the course is done after 20th of the month then scholarship will be admissible from the next month)

    Scholarships for post-matriculation classes for SC students are given on the basis of the following rates and norms:-

    3) Special scholarship to children of people engaged in unclean occupations (tanning, leather tanning, scavenging) :

    This special scheme, 100% centrally funded, has been in operation since 1977-78. Before 1991-92, only students studying from class 6 to 10 staying in hostels were given benefits under this scheme.
    • The income limit of guardians/parents has been abolished in this scheme. Now the Government of India has revised the processing rates of this scheme as follows, which is effective from 01 April, 2008.
    • The process of approval/payment of scholarship is followed by the school as per Pre-Maxim Scholarship.
    • The amount of scholarship is Rs.8000 per annum.
